Rebbe’s Current Corner

September – October 2019

Celebrate! Celebrate! Celebrate!

It is the holiday season. This is the Jewish holiday season, starting with Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) and going through to the last day of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles.)

We celebrate because we know the great atonement provided by Messiah Y’shua.

We celebrate that Messiah has broken down the middle wall of partition between Jews and Gentiles. We celebrate because of the wonderful unity at both Agape Gathering Place and Sanctuary Messianic Congregation. We celebrate the beautiful unity developing between the two congregations. We celebrate the beginning of the Fall Feasts together (Feast of Trumpets, September 29th) and we celebrate the final day of the Fall Feasts together (The Hoshana Rabbah, October 20). We encourage and invite others to join and celebrate with us this season.

We celebrate because the trumpet sounds – here on earth and in heaven. The trumpets announce the coming of the great harvest, the in-gathering of believers and the soon return of the King, Messiah Y’shua. Wow, we have a lot to celebrate.

The celebrations are listed on our website. Visitors are absolutely welcome!

Signature Greeting

Shalom Brethren,

This past weekend I finished a year-long series on the Book of Galatians.  This series was done once a month at Agape Gathering Place in Waukegan.   We finished off this series with a visit by the Messianic dancers from Sanctuary.   It was a wonderful and joyous time of worship and celebration; a beautiful atmosphere of the unity of the body of Messiah.   Thank you to the dancers and those from Sanctuary that joined us for this time.

I will be starting a new series at Agape next month; starting September 8.   I will be going through the Book of Colossians; one half chapter the 2nd Sunday of each month.   The series will go from September 2019 to May 2020.

At Sanctuary, starting in September, (Saturday, September 5th) I will be teaching from Genesis – a series titled “Gems from Genesis”.  The primary section will be Genesis chapter one through chapter four.  Deb often says: “all we need to know, is in those first few chapters of Genesis, yet it is in seed form.”  All the DNA code is in the seed of a plant.   The seed does not look like the final plant, but all the code is in that seed.   The first few chapters of Genesis have all the primary understanding of God’s plan and purposes, yet that understanding is in seed form.   We look forward to some good discussion and conversation in this series.

Our Holiday Schedule for September is as follows:

Sunday, September 29th, 2019 6:00 pm

Feast of Trumpets – Shofar Service

Combined with Agape Gathering Place

2045 Kellogg Ave. Waukegan IL

Tuesday, October 8, 2019.

Wednesday, October 9, 2019.  Breaking the Fast

6:30 at Sanctuary

Also please remember that we will be supporting and attending the RIMI Banquet Saturday, September 21, 2019, 12pm – 3pm at the Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling.

For any additional information on any of these events please feel free to contact me at 847-868-0195 or smilingmaven@yahoo.com.

Blessings to all in Messiah Y’shua,

Art Weiner

Shalom Mishpocheh (family),

I began writing this email about our Shabbat topic “The Name of God” and found that it was too big of a topic for an email or Rebbe’s Current Corner on the website at least for now. I hope and pray to post more or this topic in the future.

Deb and I are continuing to adjust and step into this role of under-shepherds for Messianic Sanctuary. We are not the shepherd(s); Y’shua is the Shepherd; we are under-shepherds under His true, holy, and completely loving care as The Shepherd.

We are blessed by the love and community of this congregation. As most of you know we will be having a “Freedom” barbecue celebration for Independence Day at our home in Zion IL.. We will be providing the meat and general supplies; we are asking that people bring a dish to share (salad, chips, side dish, dessert, etc.)

We also serve as assistant pastors at Agape Gathering Place in Waukegan on Sunday mornings and these brothers and sisters are also invited. We are looking forward to this opportunity for a warm connection between brethren. We have fellowship with Messiah through His blood, and we have fellowship with one another because of His blood (1 John 1:1-8) Hallelujah!

If you have any questions about the barbecue, any questions about the Shabbat teaching, any questions about Sanctuary Messianic, or any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me (smilingmaven@yahoo.com 847-868-0195).

Blessings in Messiah,

Art Weiner

שלום וברכות

Shalom oov rakhot,  (Shalom and blessings)

Shalom though a biblical world, now used in modern Hebrew, conveys a simple greeting with warmth and friendliness.  Oov rakhot (andblessings) is from the same root as the word baruch or bless, (the beginning of many Jewish prayers).  Blessings to each and everyone of you: dear brothers and sisters in Messiah who connect with one another at Sanctuary Messianic Congregation.

I have met most of you, but not all.   My name is Art Weiner and I am the new pastor, spiritual leader or rebbe at Sanctuary Messianic.  My wife Deb and I look forward to connecting with each of you and learning and growing with you in the wonderful love of Messiah Y’shua.

It is my prayer to make myself available as much as possible throughout the week for any needs that develop.  My email is smilingmaven@yahoo.com.  Also, you may leave a message on the congregation phone 847-868-0195 and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

What about Smiling Maven.  This ministry was founded as a Jewish expression of God’s incredible Grace.   The website is www.smilingmaven.com .    I encourage you all to check out the website.   It is good way to learn more about this crazy or zany Jewish grace fanatic that is now your pastor.

Please feel free to call, text, or email me.   I look forward to our fellowship together in Messiah.

Blessings, blessings, and more blessing,

Art and Deb Weiner
